The NATO Defense College is a unique blend of practitioners from all walks of military and civilian life. Its structure reflects the distinctive nature of its mission, in which Faculty Advisers are supported by military, civilian and Host Nation Support elements in providing the best possible service to Course Members.

The concept of its structure, stable yet at the same time in constant evolution, allows a great flexibility in order to meet the needs of a changing NATO.

The College organisation is divided into two main branches, headed by a Dean and a Director of Management (DoM) who oversee the smooth running of the College. Both report directly to the Commandant.
