On 26th June 2012 Major General Li Ning, Defence Advisor of the People's Republic of China to the European Union, visited the NATO Defense College (NDC). The visit was conducted upon the invitation of the Director General of the International Military Staff, with the aim of initiating contacts between the People's Liberation Army National Defense University and the NDC.
The delegation was welcomed by the Chief of the NDC Public Affairs Office, LtCol Mario Masdea, after which Maj. Gen. Ling joined NDC Commandant LtGen Arne Bård Dalhaug for an office call and an informative briefing on the NDC's mission, courses and daily activities. Following this, Maj. Gen. Ling participated in an academic discussion with the Commandant, the Dean, the Director of Management, the Director of the NATO Regional Cooperation Course, the Director of the Academic Operations Division and the Chief of the Budget and Finance Branch. The participants in the discussion expressed their views about the current security environment, and addressed various topics of interest and common concerns.
The visit to the NDC by the Defence Advisor of the People's Republic of China to the European Union not only provided our distinguished visitor with practical insight into the College and its educational activities, but also laid the foundations for future cooperation.
