On 15 October, Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe (DSACEUR) designate LGEN Tim Radford visited the NATO Defense College. LGEN Radford was welcomed by NDC Commandant LGEN Chris Whitecross and by Dean Stephen Mariano.

Senior Course 135 Field Study: Ottawa

Senior Course 135 had the rare privilege of interacting with General Jon Vance, Chief of the Defense Staff, of the Canadian Armed Forces. On the final segment of the Transatlantic link field study, course members also benefited from engagements with several senior Canadian military officials as well as the senior Pol/Mil advisor. These sessions well exceeded expectations, clearly achieving field study objectives. In short, this was an excellent way to conclude the Transatlantic link.

The 79th Iraqi Staff Course, Iraqi National Defence College, visits the NDC

On 8th October, the NATO Defense College hosted a delegation from the Iraqi National Defence College, composed of 35 Officers from the 79th Iraqi Staff Course. The group was led by MGEN Mohammed Abdulrazaq Mohammed Saber, LGEN Salahaldeen Mustafa Kamal and the Iraqi Defence Attaché in Rome BGEN Ali Abbas Monshed.

Senior Course 135 Field Study: Washington

While visiting Washington D.C., Course Members from Senior Course 135 were received by LTG John Jansen, Deputy Commandant for Programs and Services (U.S. Marine Corps) at the Pentagon. He provided personal observations on the current global security environment, explaining how threats to security are linked and present a time of increased danger for the Alliance.

NATO Regional Cooperation Course 22 Field Study: London

On Wednesday, 2nd October 2019, after visiting the EU commission and NATO HQ in Brussels, NRCC 22 travelled to London for the second leg of the Field Study. On Thursday morning, NRCC 22 Course Members were received at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office for a series of briefings on the British MoD/Foreign Office joint approach to foreign policy relating to NATO, the EU and the Middle East.
