SC 136‘s Russia Seminar
Given the exceptional circumstances, the Russia Seminar, which has just ended at the NDC, was carried out completely in e-learning mode, as indeed the Senior Course’s entire academic programme since the COVID-19 lockdown.
On 28 and 29 April, Faculty Adviser Nancy Vellone (ITA, C) moderated a panel of five experts, on Russia and NATO-Russia relations: Prof. Aurel Braun from Canada, Mr Keir Giles from the UK, BGen (Ret) Reiner Schwalb from Germany, Dr Dmitry Suslov and Dr Max Suchkov from Russia, discussed Russia-related topics with Course Members.
On the first day, there were briefings followed by a long Question and Answer session, while on Day 2, CMs split into eight working groups to discuss different aspects, including the future of NATO-Russia relations.
Course Members enjoyed this great study period run in virtual study groups with the lecturers virtually rotating from one group to another, and who delivered very informative and updated briefings on the topic. Another ‘virtual’ success!
