Visit by the China Institute of International Studies
On 24th June 2015, the NATO Defense College had the pleasure of receiving a delegation from the China Institute of International Studies (CIIS).
The aim of the visit was to facilitate the group’s research, focusing on the ‘change of NATO's security concept in the wake of the Ukraine crisis’.
The delegation, headed by Dr Cui Hongjian, Senior Fellow and Director of European Studies within the China Institute of International Studies, was warmly welcomed by the Dean Dr Daria Daniels Skodnik (SVN C) and by Dr Guillaume Lasconjarias (FRA C) from the NDC Research Division.
After an introduction on the NDC’s general organization and the Research Division’s activities, the Chinese visitors attended a lecture by Dr Lasconjarias on the ‘Hybrid Warfare Conference’, which was hosted at the NDC on 29-30 April 2015.
The brief question and answer session that followed provided opportunity for discussion, and the visit was an excellent opportunity to have a useful exchange of views between NATO and the prestigious Chinese institute.
The CIIS is the think tank of China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It conducts research and analysis on a wide range of foreign policy issues, focusing primarily on mid- and long-term policy issues of strategic importance for international politics and the world economy.
