The NDC’s Fourteenth NATO Regional Cooperation Course (NRCC-14), led by Middle East Faculty (MEF) Director Col G. Morabito (ITA A), arrived in Madrid on Wednesday 11th November 2015, for the second stop on its Field Study.

On Thursday 12th November, the NDC delegation visited the Spanish Centre for National Defence Studies (CESEDEN). The Commandant of CESEDEN, Lieutenant General Alfonso De La Rosa Morena (ESP A), hosted the visit and warmly welcomed the delegation.

During the stay, Course Members attended several institutional presentations and briefings on a number of issues, including: “The relationship between Spain and Middle Eastern countries”, by LtCol Manuel Maria Jiménez (ESP F), Plans and International Relations, Defence Diplomacy Department, MOD; a talk by Professor Araceli Jiménez of the Francisco de Vitoria University in Madrid; and “Instability In Libya and its consequences in domestic and international terms”, by Dr Carlos Echeverria, Professor of International Relations.

Following the presentations and thorough question and answer periods, Course Members enjoyed a working lunch and closing remarks in the CESEDEN banquet hall.

Col Morabito expressed the NDC’s appreciation to the CESEDEN Commandant for the hospitality and valuable exchange.
