Visit of H.E Ambassador Basat Öztürk
On 24th November 2016, the NATO Defense College had the honour of welcoming the Deputy Undersecretary of the Ministry of National Defence of the Republic of Turkey, H.E Ambassador Basat Öztürk.
Upon arrival, Ambassador Öztürk was warmly welcomed by the Dean of the NDC, BrigGen (ret.) František Mičánek (CZE); and by Faculty Adviser Minister Plenipotentiary M. Turker Ari (TUR C).
After an office call spent in discussion with the Dean, the Ambassador delivered a lecture of opportunity in the main auditorium, addressed to the Senior Course (SC129), the NATO Regional Cooperation Course (NRCC16), the Modular Short Course (MSC 129-4), and all NDC Faculty and Staff.
The Lecture on “Black Sea Security” was followed by a Question and Answer session.
Before holding his current position as Deputy Undersecretary at the Ministry of National Defence, Ambassador Öztürk was Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey in Kabul, Afghanistan and Director General for International Security Affairs (NATO, OSCE, Arms Control and Disarmament).
