Mobilising Insights in Defense and Security Program (MINDS) Fellow

Dr Nicole J. Jackson is the 2025 MINDS (Mobilizing Insights in Defence Studies) Fellow at the NATO Defense College (NDC), where she is acting as a mentor on the NATO Senior Course. She is Associate Professor of International Studies at Simon Fraser University (SFU), in Vancouver, Canada.

She has written widely on Russian security and foreign policy as well as Canadian and Western responses, including in security communications and deterrence. Her research at NDC focuses on multilateral collaboration in response to Russian information threats in the context of the war in Ukraine and considers implications for NATO and Canada. Among her current research interests are NATO's current evolution and how to get peace in Ukraine, as well as Russia's developing security partnerships.

She holds a PhD in Government from the London School of Economics.
