In support of all the NDC’s academic activities, the Academic portal is a Learning Management System (LMS) that provides educators, administrators and learners with a single robust, secure and integrated system to create personalized learning environments.

This use of the Academic portal means that the courses offered by the NDC are combinations of Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) courses and blended learning, in which the content and instruction are delivered via digital and online media with some elements of Course Member control over time, place, path, or pace.

As part of the NDC educational policy, the NDC provides, as a prior requirement for those beginning the Senior Course and other courses, an ADL course package currently composed of 3 courses: “Introduction to NATO”, “Introduction to Common Security Defence Policy (CSDP)” and “International Relations Refresher”. The 3 courses are only accessible by NDC Staff and Course Members from the Senior Course, NATO Regional Cooperation Course, MSC, and MSC-PI. .
