On 31st March 2014, a group of fourteen students from the Université Catholique de l’Ouest (Angers, France) visited the NATO Defense College (NDC). <\/p>\n

The delegation was welcomed by Dr Guillaume Lasconjarias (FRA C) of the NDC Research Division.<\/p>\n

The aim of this visit, by students following an MA course in “Conflictualité et Médiation”, was to gain a general overview of the activities and organization of the College. <\/p>\n

Following an informative briefing on the NDC by the Director of Academic Operations, the visitors were given talks by two NDC researchers. First, Dr Guillaume Lasconjarias gave a presentation on current NATO issues, Smart Defence and the Connected Forces Initiative. Dr Jean-Loup Samaan (FRA C), Faculty Advisor at the NDC Middle East Faculty, then spoke about regional dynamics in the Middle East. Both presentations were concluded by a lively Q&A session and debate.<\/p>\n

This visit gave the French delegation a first-hand insight into the NDC\u2019s role as NATO\u2019s premier academic institution.<\/p>\n
