On 23rd March 2015, the NATO Defense College had the privilege of welcoming four authoritative speakers to address Senior Course 126 (SC 126) on Italian security and defence priorities: H.E. Min. Massimo AMBROSETTI, Italian Deputy PERMREP to the NAC; BGen Silvano FRIGERIO, Ministry of Defence; Cons. Amb. Lucio DEMICHELE, Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and Mr Vincenzo DELICATO, Ministry of the Interior. The distinguished guests were welcomed by the NDC Director of Management, BGen Salvatore CARTA<\/a> (ITA A); after meeting the NDC leadership, they spoke to SC 126 in the Maynard-Thorn Auditorium.<\/p>\n

The briefings<\/a> focused on the role of Italy within the European Union, and NATO security strategy and defence policy, with specific reference to issues deriving from the Ukrainian crisis and ISIS threat. <\/p>\n

The ensuing Q&A<\/a> provided an excellent opportunity for in-depth discussion of related issues, as Course Members engaged with the speakers on several of the topics covered in the course of the day.<\/p>\n

SC 126\u2019s \u2018Italian Day\u2019 was fittingly concluded by a visit to the Quirinale Palace for Course Members and an accompanying delegation of NDC representatives.<\/p>\n
