Participants to the fourth Senior Executive Regional Conference<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p>\n

The fourth Senior Executive Regional Conference (SERC 4), organized by the NDC Middle East Faculty under the leadership of Col Giuseppe Morabito<\/a> (ITA A), was held at the NDC from 8-12 June 2015. <\/p>\n

Following the busy schedule of Days 1 and 2 (see earlier post on this site), the programme for Wednesday 10 June began with a panel session led by H.E. Afif Safieh, Palestinian Roving Ambassador for Special Missions, and Mr Gilead Sher, Head of the Center for Applied Negotiations at the Institute for National Security Studies, Tel Aviv University. General John R. Allen<\/a>, former ISAF Commander and currently Special US Presidential Envoy for the Global Coalition to Counter ISIL, then delivered a keynote speech on “The state of the fight against ISIL”. This was followed by the second panel session, with Dr Andrea Angeli, Political Adviser to the Office of the NATO Senior Civilian Representative for Afghanistan\/ Resolute Support Mission, and LtGen Nazim Payenda, Director of the Audit Department at the Afghan Ministry of Defence.<\/p>\n

On Thursday 11 June, there was a morning panel session with Dr Seyed Hossein Mousavian, Research Scholar at Princeton University, and Dr Nicola Pedde<\/a>, Director of the Institute for Global Studies. Following an afternoon visit to the Quirinale Palace, SERC 4 participants gathered at the Hotel Savoy and met Ambassador Alessandro Minuto Rizzo, President of the NDC Foundation.<\/p>\n

Friday 12 June marked the last day of SERC 4: the NDC had the great honour to have as a guest lecturer Admiral (ret.) Giampaolo Di Paola<\/a>, former Italian Minister of Defence and former Chief of the NATO Military Committee. Later on during the day, LtGen Mark O. Schissler, Deputy Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, presented the concluding remarks at the closing ceremony attended by NDC Commandant MGen Janusz Bojarski (POL F), Dean Dr Daria Daniels Skodnik (SVN C) and the NDC leadership.<\/p>\n
