On 24th June 2015, the NATO Defense College had the pleasure of receiving a delegation from the China Institute of International Studies (CIIS).<\/p>\n

The aim of the visit was to facilitate the group\u2019s research, focusing on the \u2018change of NATO’s security concept in the wake of the Ukraine crisis\u2019. <\/p>\n

The delegation, headed by Dr Cui Hongjian, Senior Fellow and Director of European Studies within the China Institute of International Studies, was warmly welcomed by the Dean<\/a> Dr Daria Daniels Skodnik (SVN C) and by Dr Guillaume Lasconjarias (FRA C) from the NDC Research Division.<\/p>\n

After an introduction on the NDC\u2019s general organization and the Research Division\u2019s activities, the Chinese visitors attended a lecture by Dr Lasconjarias on the \u2018Hybrid Warfare Conference\u2019, which was hosted at the NDC on 29-30 April 2015.<\/p>\n

The brief question and answer session that followed provided opportunity for discussion, and the visit was an excellent opportunity to have a useful exchange of views between NATO and the prestigious Chinese institute.<\/p>\n

The CIIS is the think tank of China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It conducts research and analysis on a wide range of foreign policy issues, focusing primarily on mid- and long-term policy issues of strategic importance for international politics and the world economy. It also makes comments and policy recommendations on major world events and issues.<\/p>\n
