Outgoing Dean Dr Daria Daniels Skodnik with new Dean BG (ret.) František Mičánek <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p>\n

The Change of Dean ceremony at the NATO Defense College, presided over by Commandant MajGen Janusz Bojarski (POL F), was held on 15th September 2016, marking the handover from outgoing Dean Dr Daria Daniels Skodnik (SVN C) to her successor BGen (ret.) František Mičánek (CZE).<\/p>\n

The ceremony took place in the late morning in the Maynard-Thorn Hall, in the presence of Senior Course 129, NDC faculty and staff. MajGen Bojarski expressed appreciation for the outgoing Dean’s success in ensuring that the College continues to set the highest standards for its educational, research and outreach activities.<\/p>\n

Highlighting the important role played by Dr Daniels Skodnik as the first woman Dean since the establishment of the NDC, the Commandant then wished the new Dean every success. <\/p>\n

In her farewell remarks, Dr Daniels Skodnik underlined the changes in the international security environment that have been to the fore among the College\u2019s priorities in recent years. She also remarked that the NDC agenda has been adapted accordingly, the Command Group’s main concern being to ensure that the rapidly evolving educational requirements of 28 Allied nations and NATO\u2019s many partners are fully catered for.<\/p>\n
