Participants to Modular Short Course 130-5<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p>\n

The week-long Modular Short Course 130-5, entitled \u201cRegional Issues\u201d, ended today. It ran in conjunction with Senior Course 130 and is part of the NDC\u2019s educational mission.\n<\/p>\n

The course is designed to present an overview of the geopolitical importance of certain selected regions of the world, and key political, military, social and economic trends.\n<\/p>\n

The MSC was attended by 13 participants from 6 different NATO countries, who had the opportunity to follow important lectures on:<\/p>\n

\u201cIsrael and the Palestinians\u201d, by Ambassador Yossi Amrani (ISR) and Dr Yaser Alashqar (IRL ); \u201cNorth Africa\u201d, by Prof. Mustapha Benchenane (FRA) and Dr Pierre Razoux (FRA); \u201cSub-Saharan Africa\u201d, by Dr Sonia Le Gouriellec (FRA) and Dr Greg MILLS (ZAF); \u201cThe Western Balkans\u201d, by Mr Gerald Knaus (AUT); and \u201cThe Middle East and Iran\u201d, by Prof. George Joff\u00e9 (GBR) and Dr Nicola Pedde (ITA).<\/p>\n
