Participants to Modular Short Course 132-1<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p>\n

During the week 26 February – 2 March, the NATO Defense College hosted Modular Short Course (MSC) 132-1 on \u201cThe Global Security Environment\u201d.<\/p>\n

Running in conjunction with Senior Course 132, the MSC analysed processes and conceptual issues underlying the security environment of the 21st century and their significance for NATO. <\/p>\n

Throughout the week the group attended a variety of lectures: \u201cReligion and Conflict<\/i>\u201d, by Msgr Lucio Sembrano (ITA) and Mr Mustafa Akyol (TUR); \u201cStrategic Thinking\u201d, by Prof. Christopher Coker (GBR); \u201cTechnological Development: Risks and Opportunities<\/i>\u201d, by Prof. Dr Holger Mey (DEU); \u201cThe Evolution of International Law and Ethics in Modern Warfare<\/i>\u201d, by Prof. Arnulf Becker (USA) and Dr Tam\u00e1s Hoffmann (HUN); and \u201cThe International System and Schools of Thought<\/i>\u201d, by Dr Todd Hall (GBR). The week\u2019s activities were also complemented by Q&A sessions and many other opportunities for debate and discussion. <\/p>\n

MSC 132-1 comprised eleven military and civilian participants, from seven NATO countries and one Partnership for Peace member state.<\/p>\n
