On Monday 4 March 2019, the NATO Defense College hosted a four member-strong Japanese delegation from the National Institute for Defence Studies (NIDS). The delegation, led by Navy Captain Makoto NAGAHIRO, Defence Attach\u00e9 of the Embassy of Japan in Rome, received an exhaustive briefing on the NDC\u2019s core mission and the activities of the Research Division, from Dr Thierry TARDY, head of the NDC Research Division. <\/p>\n

A roundtable discussion between the guests and NDC Senior Researchers, was held afterwards. The Japanese delegation provided a comprehensive overview of the mission carried out by NIDS and the current security situation in Asia, focusing in particular on the findings of the 2019 China Security Report that analyses current strategic and military trends in China.<\/p>\n
