Participants to Modular Short Course 135-3<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p>\n

From 21st to 25th October 2019, Modular Short Course (MSC) 135-3 and Integrated Partner Orientation Course (IPOC) 2019-2 were run at the NATO Defense College (NDC). The Courses, entitled \u201cNATO: Present and Future\u201d, was attended by 37 senior officials, both military and civilian, from 23 NATO and Partner countries.<\/p>\n

The purpose of the Modular Short Course and Integrated Partner Orientation Course is to analyse the role and character of NATO, its policies, activities and future prospects.<\/p>\n

Participants were welcomed, on Monday morning, by NDC Commandant LGEN Chris Whitecross. The first lecture \u201cNATO Conventional and Nuclear Deterrence\u201d was given by Prof Keir Lieber (USA) and Mr Rick Perks (CAN).<\/p>\n

Lectures during the rest of week were as follows: \u201cNATO Resource Policy\u201d, by Mr Joris Ghesquiere (BEL); \u201cNATO from Crisis Management to Projecting Stability\u201d by Dr Thierry Tardy (FRA), Director of the NDC Research Division, and COL Ian Hope (CAN), NDC Faculty Adviser and Senior National Representative; \u201cNATO’s Partnership Initiatives\u201d by MGen Jan Kazimierz Toft (DNK), Dr Ayman Khalil (JOR) and Mr Otto Sax\u00e9n (FIN);and finally \u201cNATO in the Future\u201d by Prof Julian Lindley-French (GBR).<\/p>\n

On Friday 29th September, a graduation ceremony concluded MSC 135-3 and IPOC 2019-2.<\/p>\n
