The chaos in Libya has accelerated the interconnection of North African and Sahelian dynamics, creating a complex environment with serious implications for both the stability of North Africa and the Mediterranean Basin.<\/p>\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper\">The Sahel region suffers from a paradoxical situation. In view of the multiple national (Sahel armed forces),<br \/>\nregional (African Union (AU), Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS)) and international actors (United Nations, European Union, and also non-African states) present on the ground, the situation is often dubbed a \u201csecurity traffic jam\u201d.
