A delegation from the Georgian National Defence Academy, sponsored by the Centre for Defense Higher Studies (CASD) from Italy, visited the NATO Defense College on 5 April 2023. <\/p>\n

The delegation led by Brigadier General Mamia Balakhadze, Rector of the Georgian NDA, was composed of 9 visitors, 3 from the Georgian NDA, 5 from CASD and the Georgian Defence Attach\u00e9. The aim of the visit was for the delegation to familiarize themselves with the NDC and to promote cooperation among the two institutions.<\/p>\n

Upon arrival, the delegation was welcomed by Lieutenant General Olivier Rittimann, Commandant of the NATO Defense College. Commandant Rittimann then gave the delegation a comprehensive briefing on the history, structure and main activities of the NDC. The College is currently hosting two Course Members from Georgia, one of them in Senior Course 142 and the other in NRCC 29.<\/p>\n

The National Defence Academy is one of the leading higher military institutions in Transcaucasia, providing training for competitive officers and equipped with modern methods, as well as solid theoretical and practical knowledge. Establishing a highly competent officer corps is the main priority of the National Defence Academy. Today, the Academy operates first and second-level higher education programmes and a Georgian language training programme.<\/p>\n
