Spanish Minister of Defence Ms Margarita Robles Fernández visits the NDC

Minister Robles’ delegation was comprised of the Chief of Spanish Defence, Admiral Teodoro E. López Calderón and other members of the ministry. They were accompanied by the Ambassador of Spain to Italy H.E. Miguel Ángel Fernández-Palacios and the Defence Attaché, Colonel Juan Nicolás Núñez Vázquez. The aim for the visit was to learn about the NDC’s main objectives and to engage with the Spanish community of the College.

Upon arrival, Minister Margarita Robles was received by Lieutenant General Olivier Rittimann, Commandant of the NATO Defense College, after which she signed the College guest book, and had an office call with the Commandant. The visitors then attended a briefing led by Commandant Rittimann, along with the NDC Division Heads, and spoke of the College’s mission, structure, and main activities.

After the briefing, the Spanish community of the College: Course Members of SC 142 and the Spanish faculty and staff, including the Spanish Senior Representative and Faculty Advisor, Navy Captain Javier Gamboa Herraiz. All shared the chance to meet and engage with Minister Margarita Robles, the Chief of Spanish Defence and the other members of the delegation.
