The visit was a chance for the delegation to gain better knowledge of the NDC, its structure, academic curricula and courses as part of the School’s annual study tour. Colonel Mohamed Mansour, member of the ESG, led the delegation. The visitors were welcomed to the College and given a comprehensive briefing on the history, structure and main activities of the NDC by Brigadier General Ferenc Molnár, Head of the Academic Operations Division.

The Algerian War College is a higher-level military education institution whose mission is to prepare senior officers of the Algerian People's National Army over a two-year period for high-level staff, command and leadership responsibilities. It is tasked with:

  • providing operational training based on the design, analysis, planning and conduct of operations;
  • enhancing officers' general knowledge and their awareness of strategic, technological, economic and human data relating to defence and security
  • contributing to studies and research in the tactical, operational and strategic fields.

Algeria is part of NATO's “Mediterranean Dialogue”. The Mediterranean Dialogue (MD) is a partnership forum that aims to contribute to security and stability in the wider Mediterranean region and promote good relations and understanding among participating countries and NATO Allies. Currently, the following non-NATO countries take part in the Dialogue: Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Mauritania, Morocco and Tunisia.
