On Friday 17 March 2023, a delegation from The American University of Rome (AUR) visited the NATO Defense College. The aim of the visit was to provide the students with an overview of the NDC’s activities and mission.

On 12 March 2023, NRCC 29 travelled to Cairo, Egypt as the first destination on their Field Study trip. Course Members gained a deeper perspective on Egypt’s vision regarding security and foreign policy. Moreover, they were given the opportunity to network with Egyptian NDC alumni and Defence Attachés in a gathering hosted by Greece’s Ambassador to Egypt.

Senior Course 142 made a first stop in London to kick start Field Study 1. On 13 March 2023, the delegation was received by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), located on King Charles Street, London, where Course Members were briefed by representatives of the Ministry of Defense and the FCDO.

On 6 March 2023, the Ambassador of Luxembourg to Italy, Malta, Croatia and San Marino, H.E. Ms Michèle Pranchère-Tomassini, was welcomed to the NATO Defense College (NDC) where she was given the opportunity to get acquainted with the organization and to gain a better understanding of its functioning.

The event took place in Tartu, Estonia on March 2-3, 2023. The discussions covered a variety of security issues related to Russia and NATO’s Eastern Flank.

From 27 February to 3 March 2023, 21 Course Members from various NATO countries attended Modular Short Course 142-2 on “Contemporary NATO”.

On 28 February 2023, the Lithuanian Ambassador to Italy, Malta and San Marino, H.E Ms Dalia Kreivienė, was welcomed at the NATO Defense College (NDC) to engage with leadership on possibilities for closer cooperation with the Lithuanian Embassy in Italy and Lithuanian institutions.

On Sunday 26 February 2023, Course Members from Senior Course 142 and NRCC 29 participated, together with some of the NATO Defense College (NDC) faculty and staff, in a walk around the historical Aurelian Walls of Rome, which was the 82nd iteration of this event.

From 20 to 24 February 2023, the NDC hosted the first Modular Short Course (MSC 142-1) of the year, which is run in conjunction with Senior Course 142. The MSC 142-1 took part in Study Period B of the academic curriculum, entitled “Contemporary NATO”, an overview of some of the global security challenges facing the Alliance.
