The 40th edition of the Conference of Commandants (CoC), chaired by the Commandant of the NATO Defense College, Lieutenant General Wolf-Dieter LOESER, took place in Cracow, Poland on 29 May to 1 June 2011.
Major General Romuald RATAJCZAK, the Rector-Commandant of the AON:
A very warm welcome was extended by Major General Romuald RATAJCZAK, the Rector-Commandant of the AON, who was followed by the official opening speech delivered by the Chairman of the Conference, Lieutenant General Wolf-Dieter LOESER, Chairman, Conference of Commandants and Commandant of the NATO Defense College.
The conference got underway with a welcome address given by the Polish Minister of National Defence, Mr Bogdan KLICH who was followed by General Mieczysław CIENUCH, the Chief of the Polish General Staff. Their participation underlined the significance of holding the Conference on Polish soil for the first time ever.
The first keynote speech was delivered by Lieutenant General Walter J. GASKIN, Deputy Chairman Military Committee.
