Research Division Webinar “NATO Technological Superiority at 2030”

On 28-29 October 2020, the NDC Research Division held its second event of a series of activities organised in the context of the NATO-2030 Process. The event was organised in coordination with the NATO’s Policy Planning Unit (PPU) and focused on NATO Technological Superiority at 2030.
After opening remarks from the NDC Commandant, Lieutenant General Olivier Rittimann, the Director of the Research Division, Dr Thierry Tardy, and the Director of the PPU, Dr Benedetta Berti, four panels of leading experts discussed issues such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Quantum Computing, Cyber capabilities, Innovation and Knowledge-based competition.
In the context of the NATO 2030 initiative, launched by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in June 2020, this 2-day expert’s webinar contributed to the thinking process of strengthening the Alliance by exploring the challenges and opportunities posed by emerging and disruptive technologies (EDT).
