Research Division Roman Banya Seminar on “Deterring Hybrid Aggression”

On 30 September 2021, the Research Division at the NATO Defense College hosted an online seminar on “Deterring Hybrid Aggression”, which focused on deterrence, hybrid, and their implications for NATO and the West.

This was the latest installment in the series of Roman Banya events, which explore security developments on NATO’s Eastern Flank.

Participants from NDC took part both virtually and in-person, and they were joined by analysts, academics, and NATO representatives who participated online. The speakers included Ms. Heather Conley (Center for Strategic and International Studies), Prof. Mark Galeotti (University College London), Mr. Henrik Praks (European CoE for Countering Hybrid Threats), and Ms. Tanya Hartman (NATO HQ). The session was moderated by Dr. Marc Ozawa from the Research Division.

The discussions will inform a forthcoming Research Paper on a related topic.
