NATO Defense Policy and Ukraine – 7-8 Nov 2022

On November 7-8, the NATO Defense College Research Division hosted a two-day workshop centred on the future of NATO defence policy after Ukraine.

The workshop convened over 25 experts of various national backgrounds that hailed from a range of universities, think tanks, and defence firms, including the University of St. Andrews, Vrije Universiteit Brussels (VUB), Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), RAND Europe, the Norwegian Institute for Defence Studies (IFS), the Finnish Institute for International Affairs (FIIA), the Swedish Defence Research Agency (FOI), Oliver Wyman, and NATO Headquarters, amongst many others.
A keynote speech was given by Professor Phillips P. O’Brien of St. Andrews, after which discussions and Q&A were held through three panels, focused on NATO defence and deterrence, Allied operational planning, and European defence industry, respectively.
