The Research Division sponsored the Annual Conference on Russia organized by the Baltic Defence College titled, “Russia’s Futures?”

The event took place in Tartu, Estonia on March 2-3, 2023. The discussions covered a variety of security issues related to Russia and NATO’s Eastern Flank.
Of special attention this year was the future of Russia and scenarios of the Russia-Ukraine war.
Dr Marc Ozawa from the NDC Research Division moderated a panel on “NATO’s Russia Compass”. Panel speakers included, Dr Pål Jonson (Defence Minister of Sweden), Mr Hanno Pevkur (Defence Minister of Estonia), Ambassador George P. Kent (U.S. Ambassador to Estonia) and Prof Prof Przemysław Piotr Żurawski vel Grajewski (Advisor of Foreign Minister, Poland).
