
From 14 to 15 March 2010 the Commandant of the NATO Defense College, LtGen Wolf-Dieter Loeser, visited Kuwait to hold talks with Senior Officials and to deliver a speech on NATO, the Middle East and the new Strategic Concept at the Kuwait Institute of Diplomacy (KDI). He highlighted the importance of mutual and joint education as the most effective way to face future challenges in a global security environment together. The lecture was attended by Diplomats and Officials as well as students of the KDI. The Speech at the KDI was organised and chaired by the President of the Kuwait Diplomatic Institute, Ambassador Abdulazeez Al-Sharikh, and the Commandant Wolf-Dieter Loeser and Amb. Al-Sharikh held a bilateral meeting before the conference to explore further joint activities between the two institutions.
During his visit LtGen Loeser held bi-lateral meetings with MajGen Jawad Abdulla Al-Qattan, the Commandant of the Mubarak Al Abdullah Joint Command and Staff College and discussed possible areas of co-operation and joint education.
He also met with the
Vice President of the Kuwait National Security Bureau, Sheikh Thamer Ali Al-Sabah. Both reviewed the current co-operation and agreed to explore new avenues of co-operation in the area of education. In that context Sheikh Thamer announced to visit the College with a group of high-ranking Kuwaiti officials to deliver the keynote address to the third NATO Regional Cooperation Course.
