
On 15 April 2013 the NATO Defense College (NDC) was honoured to receive the visit of H.E. Anguel Tcholakov, Ambassador of the Bulgarian Republic to Italy.
Lt Gen Arne Bård Dalhaug (NOR A), NDC Commandant, warmly welcomed Ambassador Tcholakov and provided background information on the College during a brief office call. A Top Table lunch with the Commandant followed.
Dr Richard D. Hooker, Jr. (USA C), NDC Dean, provided a detailed briefing on the NDC’s mission and range of educational activities, after which Ambassador Tcholakov took part in a round table discussion with representatives of the NDC leadership. Col Vassil Roussinov, Senior National Representative of Bulgaria at the NDC, then accompanied the Ambassador on a tour of the College premises and spoke at length about the history and institutional life of the NDC.
H.E Ambassador Tcholakov obtained a Master in Political Sciences degree at the Free University of Brussels, in 2005-2006. From 2002 to 2005, he was Corporate Social Responsibility Adviser at the ExxonMobil Petroleum and Chemical Corporation, Belgium; from 2004 to 2008, he was Project Manager at Sustainable Development Group International. In 2007 he was appointed Adviser for the European Union Directorate at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Bulgarian Republic and, from 2009 to early 2013, he was Foreign Policy Adviser to the Prime Minister at the Council of Ministers of Bulgaria.
H.E Tcholakov was appointed Ambassador of Bulgaria to Italy, Malta and San Marino in March 2013.
