On 23rd January 2014, the NATO Defense College (NDC) in Rome hosted the Liaison Officers’ (LOs) Conference.
Fourteen Liaison Officers from Course Members’ nations, including Partner countries, participated in the annual conference, dedicated to the organization of the Senior Course (SC).
Participants received a warm welcome from the NDC leadership, represented by Dean Dr Daria DANIELS SKODNIK (SVN C), who introduced the conference. Further addresses were made by BrigGen Patrick DESJARDINS (FRA F), Head of Academic Operations; Col Andrea TIVERON (ITA A), Head of Academic Field Studies; and Col Stuart MacROSTIE (GBR A), Head of Curriculum Planning.
The focus of the Conference was the fine-tuning of the curriculum and of all related arrangements for forthcoming SCs (SC 124, to be followed, in the second half of the current year, by SC 125). Field Studies were a crucial item on the agenda, given the need to address constantly evolving educational priorities, update preparations accordingly, and ultimately implement the Field Studies programme as efficiently as possible, with a view to obtaining maximum benefit from them for Course Members.
SC124 is due to start on 17 February.
