
NDC Research Division Fellows Wojciech Michnik and Vasile Rotaru have recently published articles that are relevant to NATO:

- “Silencing the contestant. Legitimizing Crimea’s annexation by mimicking the West”, European Security
Dr Wojciech Michnik is assistant professor of International and Security Studies at Jesuit University Ignatianum in Krakow. While at NDC as an Eisenhower Fellow, he is focusing on Russia’s New Strategic Calculus in the Middle East as a Security Challenge for NATO’s Southern Flank.
His article, published on New Eastern Europe, explains why after 70 years in the security and defence business, NATO is still the most successful alliance the world has ever seen.
Dr Vasile Rotaru
holds a PhD in International Relations with a thesis on the Eastern Partnership and its impact on EU-Russia relations. He is currently Partnership for Peace Fellow at the NDC. His work at NDC focuses on NATO-Russia relations and NATO’s narrative in the Russian political discourse.
His article analyses Russia’s endeavors to legitimize the annexation of Crimea in the eyes of the Western community.
