On 06 November 2020, Course Members of NATO Regional Cooperation Course 24 celebrated their graduation with a ceremony at the NDC, in accordance to all COVID-19 regulations of its host nation, Italy. The Graduation Address was delivered by General Fernando Alejandre (Ret.), former Chief of Defense of Spain.
The Commandant of the NDC, Lieutenant General Olivier Rittimann, gave his welcoming remarks remotely, and paid particular tribute to the Course Members for all their efforts and their achievement in spite of the difficulties imposed by the pandemic. He then gave the floor to General Fernando Alejandre (Ret.), former Chief of Defense of Spain, and Ancien of Senior Course 108, who delivered the Graduation Address.
During his speech entitled, “The Mediterranean as an area of shared interests for NATO and MENA partners”, the General expressed his views on Spain’s perspective and position as a NATO Ally and the important relationships with all partners from the MENA region.
Following the speech, Course President, Minister Plenipotentiary Ms Imen Laajili Ammari (TUN C) delivered her farewell address prior to the awarding of diplomas. To reduce the number of people physically present, most embassies and distinguished guests were invited to follow the ceremony online via the NDC’s social media channels.
After the graduation, General Alejandre (Ret.) gave a ‘lecture of opportunity’ to Senior Course 137.
