
On 3 and 4 November 2009 Bahrain’s Chief of Public Security, Major General Abdul Latif Al-Zayani, visited the NATO Defense College to present a Keynote Address to the NATO Regional Cooperation Course (NRCC) on “Public Security in Bahrain and the Strategic Challenges in the Gulf Region”.
During his visit Major General Al-Zayani held meetings with the Dean of the NATO Defense College, Dr Grant T. Hammond, and with the Director of the NRCC, Col. Sandy Guptill, in order to explore opportunities for further educational cooperation and dialogue with the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Major General Al-Zayani also met with the Course Members of the second NATO Regional Cooperation Course (NRCC-2) and with the Faculty and Staff of the Middle East Faculty. He underlined the uniqueness of the NRCC program as a way of broadening education and mutual understanding, as well as strategic and critical thinking.
The NATO Defense College greatly values the ongoing cooperation with the Kingdom of Bahrain and looks forward to strengthening it further through initiatives including the participation of Bahraini students in the next NATO Regional Cooperation Course (NRCC-3).
