
Today, 22 June 2009, NATO Defense College hosted the NATO – ISAF Public Affairs Conference. The event is organized by NATO HQ PDD – Press and Media Section in coordination with NDC – PAO Office.
This year there are 107 conference participants from 28 ISAF troop contributing nations.
The objectives of the Conference, as underlined by The Dean of NDC, Dr. Grant T. HAMMOND, and by the Assistant Secretary General for Public Diplomacy Jean-Francois BUREAU during the opening remarks, are: to discuss and develop ideas regarding communications and public affairs in Afghanistan, in particular through the review of action point from 2008 Conference and the NATO Strategic Communications priorities for 2009.
The first day of the Conference the participants are organized into eight working groups, to examine various aspects of our collective strategic communication challenges in Afghanistan in order to develop recommendations for action to be considered further by NATO authorities, within ISAF Troop Contributing Nation capitals and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
