Held in conjunction with the SC139’s academic programme, from 11 to 15 October 2021, Modular Short Course 139-3 (MSC 139-3) and Modular Short Course – Partner Integrated (MSC-PI) participants heard lectures on “Contemporary NATO”, providing Course members with insights into some global security challenges.
The newly named Modular Short Course – Partner Integrated (MSC-PI) – formerly Integrated Partner Orientation Course (IPOC) – gives the opportunity to Course Members from Partner Nations from the Partnership for Peace, the Mediterranean Dialogue, the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative and Global Partners to exchange views with Course Members from NATO nations.
The week is designed to analyse the complex, challenging and evolving environment in which NATO operates today with a view to considering how NATO must change and adapt for the Alliance to remain a relevant and effective force for good, both now and for the future.
Some of the topics included during the discussions were “NATO and the Transatlantic Link”; “How NATO Works”; “The Role of NATO in the Current Security Environment”; “NATO Partnerships: Opportunities and Issues” and “Deterrence and the Defence of the Euro-Atlantic Space”.
