- Vox Collegii Magazine Volume V, by the NATO Defense College.
The idea of a College magazine was born in May 2010, when I recognized the need for a publication able both to illustrate the activities of the NATO Defense College and to stimulate critical thought on current international topics.
The College leadership at the time enthusiastically supported this proposal, but also raised some concern about the workload my initiative might entail for the Public Affairs Office.
This is the last number of Vox Collegii I have prepared as Editor-in-Chief, and I very much hope that our magazine will continue in the future to receive the warm and positive feedback it has earned to date. This wish springs not only from my perspective as a “founding father” who wants to see his “creation” develop and thrive, but also from my strong conviction that Vox Collegii can actively contribute to fostering the NDC mission.
In the last issue we published two features previewing the Chicago Summit, which this time is again the subject of two articles – with the focus now on analyzing the decisions actually taken (or not taken) there by the NATO leadership. In a related perspective, the remarks of the NDC Commandant at the annual Conference of Commandants examine prospects in the educational field after the Summit. Again with an eye to the future, we propose a reflection on strategic communication and another on the future of Afghanistan post-2014.
Finally, we focus on the NDC Internship Programme, and on the role played in the College by young and talented interns who represent the future leadership of national and international organizations.
