On 6 September 2012, 47 members of the Norwegian Labour Party`s Parliamentary Group visited the premises of the NATO Defense College (NDC) in Rome, where the delegation had the chance to learn more about the mission, roles and functions of the NATO Defense College.
The Norwegian Labour Party is part of the current Norwegian government as member of the Red-Green Coalition and it is led by the current Prime Minister, Mr. Stoltenberg. The Party was founded in 1887 and has a social-democratic nature.
In the first part of their visit, the Group met with the Dean of the NDC, Dr. Richard D. Hooker, who provided a detailed explanation of the activities of the College, its academic offerings and its structure. This presentation was followed by a briefing on NATO and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Region, by Dr. Florence Gaub, who is a Faculty and Researcher at the NDC Middle East Faculty.
The discussion continued over an informal lunch at the College, followed by a guided tour of the premises, which provided the members of the Parliamentary Group a thorough overview of the NDC compound.
