On March 28-29, the Research Division of the NATO Defense College sponsored the first joint workshop between NDC, the Finnish Institute of International Affairs (FIIA) and the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI).
The event, titled “Finland and Sweden’s accession to NATO: Strategic and operational perspectives”, took place at FIIA in Helsinki and brought together academics and experts to discuss the prospects of Finland and Sweden joining NATO.
The Director of the Research Division, Dr Thierry Tardy, gave opening remarks which was followed by four panels on topics ranging from the strategic landscape to military implications. The discussions will inform future NDC research.
