On the 25th of September 2009, the 56th Annual Conference and Seminar of Anciens will take place in the presence of Ambassador Claudio BISOGNIERO, NATO Deputy Secretary General, and Admiral Giampaolo DI PAOLA, Chairman of the Military Committee, who will be welcomed by Lieutenant General Wolf-Dieter LOESER, Commandant of the College.
The topic of the Seminar, “From Washington to Lisbon – towards a new Strategic Concept”, offers a unique opportunity for an outstanding overview of the upcoming NATO challenges.
A number of distinguished guests have confirmed their attendance, including the former U.S. Ambassador to NATO, Ambassador Robert HUNTER; the French Chief of Defense General Jean-Louis Georgelin; the Director, Western Balkans, Eastern Europe and Central Asia Directorate of the Council of the European Union, Ambassador Zoltan MARTINUSZ ; and the Chairman of the Munich Security Conference, Ambassador Wolfgang ISCHINGER.
The event will start with a stirring Flag Raising Ceremony, followed by lectures given by the high level speakers listed above.
