This morning a high level meeting of military education leaders and experts was held at NATO Defense College.
The delegation was composed of LtGen Karl-Heinz VIERECK, ACT DCOS Joint Force Training, LtGen A.J.N.GRAHAM, Director General Defence Academy of the United Kingdom, and Vice Admiral Ann E. RONDEAU, President of the United States National Defense University.
The group was warmly welcomed by the NDC Commandant. LtGen Wolf-Dieter LOESER, who chaired the discussion panel. The purpose of the meeting was to explore new areas of cooperation and increase coordination among NATO bodies. In the current scenario, on top of new challenges regarding security and global stability, education institutions also have to face budget cuts. Wider synergy is the tool to tackle budget constraints and offer timely, appropriate education for NATO personnel, both military and civilian.
The meeting was the very first step in shaping the initial ideas for global military education. The NDC Research Division, represented by its Director, Dr Karl-Heinz KAMP, also took part in the panel.
