- Vox Collegii Magazine Volume IV, by the NATO Defense College.
Though there may be changes in leadership, a truly successful organization will always continue to perform at its best. The NATO Defense College is an example of this. During the last six months, we have bid farewell to many Division leaders and have welcomed their successors. As these changes have taken place, the College has never ceased to operate with the utmost efficiency and commitment.
In addition to its institutional courses, the Senior Course and the NATO Regional Cooperation Course, the College has been busy with many other activities in recent months, and in this issue of Vox Collegii we are pleased to include inside perspectives on a number of these as well as comments on international events.
Among the questions of great topical interest to the international community as a whole is the upcoming Chicago Summit agenda, analysed on the following pages from two different viewpoints. There is also a focus on a topic whose implications for the world at large have been ever-present in recent months – the “Arab Spring”, which has led to enormous changes in the MENA Region; the main actors of the revolution have been young people, and this is why we have given one of them the opportunity to offer a contribution on the situation in Libya.
Though not accompanied by the same media impact, the increasingly important operational role of women in NATO policies is another topical subject analysed in this issue, within the framework of the principles stated in UNSCR 1325.
Finally, with specific reference to the College’s activities, you will see that we have included reports on the upcoming NATO-AU Symposium, an interview on the NDC’s Library and Knowledge Centre, and summaries of the 57th Annual Anciens’ Seminar and NDC Foundation Conference.
In our effort to provide you with a range of thought-provoking contributions, we do hope that you will enjoy this edition of Vox Collegii.
