Day 3 of Innovation Week shifted to national and independent entities, focusing on the Joint European Disruptive Initiative (JEDI) and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to learn from their approach to innovation.
BGEN Rolf Wagner, Head of the Academic Planning & Policy Division, opened the session with some welcome remarks addressed to Course Members and to the lecturers taking part in this Day 3 of Innovation Week. Moderated by COL Sylvain Curtenaz, the session started with Dr. André Loesekrug-Pietri, CEO of JEDI, who briefed on JEDI’s endeavours to become a prime institution in technology and innovation. This was followed by the briefing provided by LTC Joshua Stults, Program Manager at DARPA, who explained DARPA’s history, role and commitment to the national security of the USA, with a special mention to hypersonic weapons. As a wrap-up, the session continued with an interesting discussion between Course Members and the representatives from both JEDI and DARPA. Innovation Week’s Day 3 concluded with the closing remarks by a member of the Committees.
