On 4 Dec 2008 the Senior Course 113 Winter Field Study arrived in Berlin to an outstanding Bavarian style reception hosted by State Secretary Mr Rudiger Wolf. As always, the guided tours during travel between venues highlighted the historical and cultural points of the city.
Berlin, perhaps more than any other city, epitomizes the history of post WWII division. The Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag and the remains of the Berlin Wall: all were seen first hand. More to the point, Berlin epitomizes the ability to acknowledge history and to move on from the past to the future.
