
The NATO Defense College was honoured to receive a visit from the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Italy and Malta, H.E. Petr Buriánek. The ambassador was joined by the Czech Defence Attaché, Major General Antonín Pugzík, who is an Ancien of NDC’s General, Flag Officer and Ambassadors’ Course.
After an office call with the NDC Commandant, Lieutenant General Arne Bård Dalhaug, Ambassador Buriánek and Major General Pugzík participated in an informative briefing on the College’s roles, mission and functions. The Ambassador and the NDC Commandant discussed the increasing importance of partnerships to NATO, and how the College contributes to this Allied priority through its educational, research and outreach initiatives.
Following the briefing, the Czech Republic’s Senior National Representative at the College, Col. Rotislav Jaros, led the Ambassador on a tour of the College and its facilities. The visit concluded over lunch, as the Commandant and senior NDC leadership continued discussions on issues of importance to the Alliance, NATO’s partners, and the NATO Defense College.
