
On 16 February 2023, the NATO Defense College (NDC) welcomed a delegation from the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine composed of Professor Dr Volodymyr Mirnenko, Director of the Department of Military Education and Science at the Ministry of Defence, Mr Valerii Dobrohurskyi, Assistant Commandant of the National Defence University of Ukraine (NDUU), and Senior Lieutenant Vitaliy Kaminko, Officer of the NDUU Distance Learning Centre. The aim of the visit was to provide a presentation on Ukrainian reforms in the area of professional military education and to discuss matters of mutual interest with the NDC.
Upon arrival, the visiting delegation was welcomed by the NDC Commandant, Lieutenant-General Olivier Rittimann, and Professor Dr Volodymyr Mirnenko signed the Guest Book.
Afterwards, the visitors, together with the NDC Commandant, the NDC Dean, Dr Christopher M. Schnaubelt, and the NDC Division Heads, headed to the Eisenhower Room to attend the briefing delivered by Professor Dr Volodymyr Mirnenko on the transformation of the military education system in Ukraine, which touched upon the goals, achievements, structure and curricula of the reformed system. The briefing was followed by a Q&A session.
The visit concluded with a gift exchange between the NDC Commandant and Professor Dr Volodymyr Mirnenko.
