NDC Insight 06-2025: Future of Conflicts – A Vision of What Is to Come, by Nicolas Minvielle, Marie Roussie and Romane Thomas1

Foresight is intended to inform and illuminate the future.
But what if instead it serves to build conceptual blinkers regarding the nature of future conflicts? This paper presents a quantitative and qualitative study of close to 100 foresight reports recently produced by NATO, its members and partners. These are placed in perspective alongside studies from adversarial countries, as well as narratives drawn from institutional science fiction.
