From 21 to 23 May 2025, the NATO Defense College (NDC) hosted its annual Anciens’ Conference and Seminar. This event brought together former Course Members, fostering continued engagement among alumni and with the College since its founding.
This 71st iteration of the Seminar explored the theme of “Sustaining Preparedness in the Long Run.” It featured prominent speakers, including General Frederik Vansina, Belgian Chief of Defence and an NDC Ancien, who delivered a compelling keynote address.
During his visit to the College, we spoke with General Vansina about the College’s vital role in developing future leaders. He emphasized the importance of promoting dialogue, especially with partners, to cultivate diverse, global perspectives, underscoring open-mindedness and compromise as key to successful international cooperation.
