Senior Course 136 is almost at an end. Concluding the virtual Course experience during the COVID-19 pandemic, the College organized another successful edition of ‘Italy day’, in connection with the Senior Course Field Study Programme.
The Commandant of the NATO Defense College, Lieutenant General Chris Whitecross, opened the day by welcoming Major General Giovanni Iannucci – representing the Italian Chief of Defence and the Italian Ministry of Defence – who delivered the introductory speech.
Colonel Riccardo Brizi, Head of the NDC Field Study Branch, introduced the next two speakers: Brigadier General Andrea Argieri from the Ministry of Defence, Plans and Policy Department, who discussed the Italian national strategy on Defence Policy and Interests and Major General Luigi Del Bene from the Italian Joint Operations Headquarters, who described Italian military operations worldwide.
Both speakers were available to answer Course Members’ questions. The session was moderated by NDC Faculty Advisor Nancy Vellone.
