After eleven months of intensive and productive activity, the NDC is taking its summer break. During the period September 2009-July 2010 many projects were carried out in the academic, research, and outreach fields. Two Senior Courses, SC 115 and SC 116, attended by an overall total of 164 Course Members from 29 different countries, and two NATO Regional Cooperation Courses, NRCC 2 and NRCC 3, were held, generating growing interest.
The Generals, Flag Officers and Ambassadors’ Courses 2009-2 and 2010-1 were attended by 87 participants.
23 Research Papers were published and 8 seminars and conferences organized. The outreach program was very challenging too, starting with the 10th Kyiv Week, when the NDC educates the students of the Ukrainian National Defence Academy on NATO topics.
The 39th Conference of Commandants, hosted in Istanbul from 17 to 19 May 2010, brought together the commandants of national academies from 40 countries.
The new NDC Magazine, “Vox Collegii”, published this month for the very first time, is the latest ambitious goal achieved by the NDC.
The College will return to full operational capacity on 16 August. The first important day is the Inauguration Ceremony for SC 117, which takes place on September 1st.
